God she’s so fucking beautiful. I kind of want to write a fanfic where she started off as a bitch but totally does a 180 and becomes pretty nice (for a Vulcan) lol
Except T’Pring wasn’t a bitch. She was ruthless and logical and vastly, devastatingly intelligent. And through the eyes of the TOS audience of course she seems like a bitch, because she tried to make Spock kill Kirk so she could legally marry the man she loved, but read that sentence again: she arranged a situation where the man she was engaged to at age 7 ended up killing his best friend, crippling him so that he would leave her to marry the man she loves. Objectively, you kind of see where she was coming from.
I mean, the whole arranged marriage situation stems from the fact that Vulcan men go into heat. They need to be bonded so when they go into their black-out, violent mating frenzy, it doesn’t kill them or their spouse. But at 7? You’re not exactly in a position of consent, and T’Pring hasn’t seen Spock in 20 years. He’s been pursuing a life outside of Vulcan, and in the meantime she’s been living her own, separate life, and part of that involved falling in love with a man who suited her better on every level. You can say all you want how you don’t understand why she would reject Spock, but that’s your subjective opinion and your affinity for Spock. Objectively, T’Pring is basically figuring out how to get out of a marriage she didn’t consent to.
I want stories about T’Pring where she tells her own story, where no one apologizes for her actions, where she’s as much of a bitch as she seems in TOS but that she’s amazing, and you don’t want her to soften or change. I want the story where she lives happily with Stonn, fuck you Spock, sometimes the having is just as exquisite as the wanting.

Behold: Star Trek has pulled me out of my drawing slump. It’s still half-sketch, but hey, one step at a time. Look! A background!
I never realized how often the bridge blows up until I started looking for it.
Uhura should not be surviving an explosion this large; please assume that her uniform’s fabric is way more intense than it looks.
